Not overriding the vote of the people on any issue
In Seattle, the county commission wanted to use public money to build a baseball Stadium. The people voted 3 times not to use public money but the commission used public money anyway.
A state somewhere around Ohio, a governor wanted to re-zone the state for voting. The people voted no and it was done anyway.
On the national level, our vote of the office of President does not count. It is basiclly a survey for congress to see who the people want. Congress will elect who they want no matter what the people want or how they feel. An Electoral College vote is cast by our Senate and House of Representatives. It is the process by which the people of the United States selects the President.
